Motorcycle Chic on Sale!

There are so, so many sales going on right now that I thought it would be fun to put together an outfit where every piece was onsale. The sale stuff is usually last season, so I wanted to use those last season's pieces to make an outfit that looks current, and I think I suceeded!

Charlotte Ronson Motorcycle Jacket, down from $279 to $139.50 at shopbop.com, Superfine Judy Blame tank top, down from $165 to $82.50 at theoutnet.com, Helmut Lang Stretch mini skirt, down from $275 to $192.50 at net-a-porter.com: Motorcycle jackets worked last fall, and they're still going to be hot next fall. Pick up one on sale now, because it's a pretty timeless style. I like this jacket because the charcoal grey is a fun, unexpected neutral, and it's the perfect length, hitting right above the hip. I like to pair stiffer motorcycle jackets with more casual, drapier tops like this Superfine tank. Slouchy racerback tanks are big right now (a la T by Alexander Wang and Kain), and I love the crucifix-esque detailing on this one. It's quirky, it's a little dark, and it acts like a statement necklace without all the fuss of the necklace itself. Plus, the pale pink shade is softer and more flattering than the typical white. I'd tuck the tank into this skirt. High-waisted mini skirts are also big for fall, and Helmut Lang is a classic, as is this skirt. It's just high-waisted enough to be trendy, but not too much so that it's not flattering, black is a completely timeless color, and the slight a-line shape is just curve-hugging enough. Plus, since it's made of a stretchy, bandagey material, it acts like a pair of Spanx (without looking like one).

Bing Bang Flower Ring, down from $175 to $122.50 at shopbop.com, Botkier Violet Runway Hobo, down from $695 to $486.50 at shopbop.com, Pour La Victoire Paige Motorcycle Sandals, down from $292 to $204.40 at shopbop.com: Since the tank makes a necklace sort of redundant, adding a statement ring would be a nice way to balance out the outfit. I love that ring. It takes a typically delicate, girly motif (flowers), and makes it off-beat and edgy with the shiny charcoal and gold metal. A big, slouchy black bag would tie the whole outfit together nicely, and black accessories keep the focus on the pink tank. I like this bag because it's gigantic and soft, but structured at the same time. The shape is pretty basic, but the pleating details at the bottom make it unique. Pick up the motorcycle vibe of the jacket with these Pour La Victoire heels. The mixed textures add visual interest, but the neutral shade still keeps the focus on the tank. And the platform on those heels makes them sooooo much comfier than regular heels.
