Rebel without a Cause

While the beach spread is softer and girlier, our '80s-inspired spread is a little more hard-edged and adrogynous. I did a post a few days ago showing where our inspiration came from for this shoot, and if you've been keeping up with Fashion Week, you know that the '80s are probably one the biggest trends for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter 2009. I really like this spread because it's more seasonless, so it applies as well to winter (at least in LA) as it does to summer. Maud shot this spread and did the makeup, I did the hair, and we both styled it. Our lovely model is Alex C. It's her very first time modelling, but she was so awesome we had people asking if she was a professional like our first model (Alex. Consider it. Just saying). Our story here was that there's this modern, independent, rebellious girl living in this very girly, romantic, orderly house/family, and so she expresses herself through her clothing. We love the contrast of these intense outfits against the English Rose vibe of the house (thanks for letting us steal your casa, Holly!). Enjoy! (If you recognize that sequin dress, it's because it's my prom dress! See, we really didn't buy anything for this).

We just want to give a big thank you to everyone who was involved in our shoots! We love you guys and we couldn't have done it without you!
