I'm going to be in Paris. Three months after Fashion Week ends. Why?????!!!??!!!! I would have literally sold body organs/limbs to be at the Lanvin show. Or the Dior show. Or any of them. Check out the gorgeousness below:
All Lanvin. Alber Elbaz never disappoints. Gorgeous draping, knotting, and beading with a hint of Parisian chic and a tocuh of exocitism. Words fail me. Need all three dresses. I die.
Christian Dior, Isabel Marant, Maison Martin Margiela. There was a lot of Indian/East Asian influence at the Dior show, combined with lots of sheers (Galliano loves the skin), bright jewel tones, and overall prettiness. The purple dress below has insane circular ruffle details. Isabel Marant got slammed a bit in the style.com review for not being that fashion forward, but I loved her show. Yes, she played it a little safe, but with the economy who blames her? She was on trend with the easy-going, soft rocker chic. Lots of little jersey dresses and big furry coats. Style.com seriously roasted the Maison Martin Margiela show (I actually cringed), but there were some shining moments, like this geometric moto jacket. It's unexpectedly wearable for that line, but still a little out-there.
Jasmine Di Milo, Jasmine Di Milo, Yohji Yamamoto. Jasmine Di Milo is seriously reliable for party dresses (which she delivered) but what I really loved were these two outfits. The sequin, rosette-covered skirt is the perfect day to night piece, and that half-gown has a Balmain vibe, but done in a much softer, more gothic/romantic way. And I don't really know what's going on at the bottom of that peacoat at Yohji, but I like it! His show was surprisingly wearable as well (and the karate master intermissions didn't hurt).
